Former Naval Aviator and later Commercial Helicopter Pilot.
Member of Peninsula Art Society (Frankston) and Oak Hill Gallery (Mornington).
In the 1950s, as a teenager at Sorrento, did a lot of drawing in the evenings, and made posters for local organisations including the Sea Scouts, Sailing Club and Fire Brigade.
Took up art again after retiring at 80 from competitive sailing. Initially used only pastel, but a year or so ago began using oils, and has receently begun experimenting with coloured pencils. Has attended classes with several tutors at Peninsula Art Society, mainly Nic Kirkman, but with oils and coloured pencils is basically self-taught . |
