Deborah’s early years of working as a graphic designer and illustrator provided her with o good foundation as she has moved into non-objective work in the 2000’s. She has begun to simplify/ abstract her work into essence over appearance.
Nature is where she finds inspiration. A starting point. Her process lies somewhere between painting, drawing and printmaking. Enjoying them all and composeing the work by creating patinas of colour and texture. Working into the paint, laying lines, scratching, mark making and collage.
It’s a cathartic process trying to find the Image as it progresses- it’s a delicate balancing act. |
