Artist Statement - Rochelle Caligiuri
I have always enjoyed drawing, particularly of people and plants. I was raised in the country and have always had a close connection to nature. I currently live in Melbourne and enjoy gardening and the inspiration for my artwork that it provides. I believe the more closely you look at nature, the more you observe and marvel at its beauty and design.
I have been drawing since a child and for the last three years have been attending Jenny Phillip’s Botanical Art class weekly.
In 2016, I had an artwork accepted into the Botanical Gardens Biannual Art Exhibition. My artwork sold.
In 2018, I had two works accepted into the The Art of Botanical Illustration Exhibition and one of those painting was acquired for the State Botanical Collection. |
