ARTIST NOTES: This work is one in a series which explores the natural beauty of the polar regions. Arctic Freeze represents the conditions of climate and plant life frozen in time. To create this work I experimented with several mediums to convey the powerful forces of the natural world. Textural qualities are evident and convey the need for balance within nature.
The undercurrent of fragility in the polar regions is expressed through colour choice. Stimulating the viewers alpha brain waves these colours evoke a feeling of calmness, tranquility and security. Growth and balance are also indicated and highlight the importance of sustainability in the natural world.

I attempt to capture, portray and infuse the natural beauty and organic qualities of nature in each work. My works are a reflection and response to my appreciation of our precious eco systems and are a contribution to raising awareness for the protection of these delicate and intricate natural systems.
